Jerry is a native Kansan, born in Salina, graduated from Salina High School in 1954 and proceeded to spend the next 46 years on college campuses. These experiences in learning, teaching , helping, counseling, organization and administration have been central to his interactions with people – be they students or colleagues – and is known around the office and community as the ultimate “people person”. This has carried over to his real estate interactions as well.

Jerry’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Kansas Wesleyan (Salina), a Master’s of Arts (MA) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Kansas. Other academic experiences were at the University of Illinois, University of Minnesota- Duluth , research postdoctoral fellow at Yale University and Kansas State University, Manhattan for 33 years where Jerry was involved in graduate and undergraduate instruction, plant cell biology research, academic advising and administration.

Like Linda, Jerry has been a long-time firm believer in the community, often noting, “I may have been employed at the University, but I live in this community and have raised my family here”. To that end, Jerry has had roles from A to Z (from the Arts to the Zoo) in community organizations: arts board chair years in a mid 1970s arts organization (forerunner of the current Manhattan Arts Center), a Manhattan Rotary Club member since 1971 (President 1986; District 5710 Ambassador Scholarship chair for 15 years), several Paul Harris Fellowships and a Rotary District 5710 Distinguished Service Award, plus KSU/Manhattan United Way boards and the Sunset Zoo Trust Committee.

Jerry’s interests and hobbies include: faith, family, grandchildren, golf, KSU athletics and golf!

In real estate, Jerry, was local board president in 2005, continues many of his academic experiences, particularly those with advising and information in interactions with clients. These characteristics are particularly significant in these days of fluctuating markets, housing and financial regulations, increasing legal detail and information technology changes. Jerry was recently noted texting while sitting in a restaurant and the server commented “how cool it was to see someone his age texting”. He further notes, he is on “Facebook” and is considering “Twitter” for his “Tweets “. Give Jerry a call for your Manhattan and area real estate needs.
